How Viable is an SoS spirit spammer build on a necro? Trying to think of builds to try out.

There isn't any advantage with a necromancer spirit spammer except you could skip out on Spirit Siphon. There isn't any need to think since the build isn't any different from standard ritualist builds in terms of skills...except primary attribute skills.

It'll work basically the same except for the lack of need for Spirit Siphon (as noted above) and that you'll lose out on a chunk of damage. Really though, if you want to play a Rit, play a Rit. Necromancers should run Necromancer builds.

Read up on what primary attributes are for, they exist for a reason. I refuse to play hm with any silly ranger or necro trying to run spirits.

I use spiritspamming on my ranger or necro to farm traveler items, if it's somewhere my rit hasn't been yet. For that purpose it works just fine.
For general play (also in HM) it is also viable, but not optimal. A guildie of mine always runs a sos build on her necro, and we often do HM without any problems (2ppl/6heroes).
Just try it, and find out for yourself how viable it is for you^^

It will work because spirits are OP. However there is a difference between viable and optimal.

As others have said, Rit will do SoS best.

I did Gwamm on my Necro using spirits for the latter part. Not as powerful as the Rit but effective and never a problem with energy.

For some solo farms or when your party is limited to 4-6 men it's viable since you can increase your defence without loosing too much damage.
Otherwise there are a lot better options for a necro.
